Carla Tiefenbacher

Carla Tiefenbacher works as research assistant in the CRC 1187 “Media of Co-operation”. As part of the sub-project on “Digital Publics and Social Transformations in the Maghreb”, she is currently writing her MA thesis on archival practices and infrastructures of memory among the last Spanish colonizers of Northern Morocco.

Carla is completing the interdisciplinary degree “Culture and Environment in Africa” at the University of Cologne. She holds a BA(hons) in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Freiburg, and is a trained mediator and grief counsellor.

Her research interests include anthropologies of the military, Science and Technology Studies (STS), as well as anthropologies of memory, conflict and reconciliation.
