Dr. Christoph Lange is a social anthropologist and currently the academic programme manager at the MESH | Multidisciplinary Environmental Studies in the Humanities research center at the University of Cologne. He is also a research associate at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology (DoSCA). Christoph Lange has been doing research on Arabian horses, feminist STS & Critical Orientalism in the Arab Middle East and Mediterranean region. Currently he is developing a postdoctoral research project focusing on the intersectional inequality of socio-ecological collapses and crises in the Mediterranean from a Critical Zones perspective. Together with Lene Faust (University of Bern) and Gerhild Perl (University of Trier), he is the speaker of the GAA Mediterranean Regional Group and at the moment coordinating the Mediterranean Liminalties reasearch lab at the UoC.
Emanuele De Simone is a PhD candidate and research assistant in the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. His research interests lie in the transforming religious landscapes of Catholic life in Central and Southern Europe. In particular, he focuses on the circulation and re-mediation of religious knowledge, practices, and institutions between southern Italy and Germany as ways of responding to various forms of existential and social crises.
